Generative M(o)ods

The original goal of this project, back in 2016, was to generate a minimal poster design using only code. Now, the idea is evolving into a system of rules that ultimately forms a generative art tool.

Keeping in mind that is and will be work in progress, please let me know if it sparkle new ideas or features at hi@generativemoods.com.

FAQ

Why design in code?

Ultimately, the idea might sound a bit silly. Design softwares are everywhere. Each software revolves around a specific or geneneral solution. However, combing the raw design and development process into a generative machine, could potentially leave more time to create meaning and reveal unexplored paths.

What is 'Generative Art'?

Generative art refers to art that in whole or in part has been created with the use of an autonomous system. An autonomous system in this context is generally one that is non-human and can independently determine features of an artwork that would otherwise require decisions made directly by the artist.

What technology I used?

For the most part, Javascript. Being a webgeek at core, I choosed to build this generative platform in the web, for the web. The skeleton is HTML, styled with CSS and powered by Javascript. The generative logic is drawn with the help of p5.js — a JavaScript library for creative coding.
